I had a lot of fun on my trip on the Raisin Valley Golf Membership. It's a friendly, family-run course with no apparent aspirations other than to make fun golf at a great price.
The course was made in 1967, and typical from older courses, the holes can be parallel and tight. In fact, on the seventeenth golf hole, you could just as easily play not your your first shot from the 6th or sixteenth.
Much of the course is open along with relatively flat. Holes ten through sixteen, however, take you top to bottom the River Raisin vly, where the golfer can be challenged with tight, cedar lined fairways and essential elevation changes. Water is needed on eight holes.
Raisin Vly is short, coming in at only 5, 556 from the spine of the two tops. From there, it plays to somewhat of a 67. 5/112 (par 71). In the forward tees, it activities 4, 625 and plays for a 67. 5/112. Given the distances and also the mostly open design, the bogey golfer can expect to score well.
Report well, that is, if you can negotiate the sometimes misleading greens. And if you possibly can make it through the rear nine without losing a ball in the trees.
Conditions on the day I played were largely good. A majority of the holes were in wonderful shape, while a number of others had dead spots. There were a several low wet areas. Green were universally good, even though.
Prices are very effective in Raisin River. On your weekends, you can play with regard to $20 walking and $36 which includes a cart. Kids under 17 play for free with an adult subsequent to 4 p. m. You can find a season walking regular membership for $600.
If I lived a bit closer, I'd make Raisin Valley a regular stop. It's fun, and I think might be a good place to sharpen your game.
