2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Who's Warm and Cold for Detroit Red Wings

Just how can a goalie be considered a "hot" player if they have an 88.5 save percent, a 1-2 report and a 3.33 GAA? Well, by just playing the way Jimmy Howard has been playing so far through three activities. Howard has given his team a chance to get in every game and each so far of the playoffs. Of the 10 goals that Howard has abandoned over three games, a considerable number of them have already been breakdowns in front of him. In Game 3, Howard threw in the towel four goals. His entire penalty-killing unit was featured by the first goal, a result of the five-minute major to Justin Abdelkader, much too high on the snow, leaving Corey Perry and Nick Bonino too wide open right facing the web. Howard was left on an area on the next goal, as Damien Brunner turned the puck over on a power play right in front of the net. Howard went for the stick always check and missed. The third and last goals were a result of defensemen while heading to the net, resulting in tap-in goals before Howard could get set to face the shooting not sticking with their men. Howard has played superior to his playoff numbers might indicate. He was leaned upon considerably in the normal time after Nick Lidstrom retired and last offseason was departed by Brad Stuart. He has, unlike what his numbers indicate, been one of the Red Wings' best people to date in this playoff series.
