Yankees SS Jeter leaves advanced for medical assessment

NEW YORK (AP) a' Yankees leader Derek Jeter has left the team's small league complex in Florida and gone for a medical examination on his injured left leg. Jeter visited see Dr. Robert Anderson, who operated on the All-Star shortstop's left leg in Charlotte, N.C., after it was broken last October. Nyc boss Joe Girardi said Thursday that the examination wasn't appointed. The 38-year-old Jeter was hurt in the operator of the AL championship series. He performed sparingly in spring training and started the season doing healing work on the team's complex in Tampa, Fla.
