Quick response: Roberto Mancini requires Manchester City to move more quickly... - Mirror.co.uk

'We moved so slowly (last period). We dropped the participants that were our targets to boost all of us ' says Blues boss Action Photos Manchester City employer Roberto Mancini has needed the team to 'go quicker ' in the transfer market should they desire to claim straight back the Premier League title. The Blues currently lay 16 points behind winners Manchester United and Mancini insists there shouldn't be a repeat of the club's slow moving transfer attempts that found them lose out on the likes of Robin van Persie and Edin Hazard a year ago. "You should go rapidly. We did not do this last year," accepted 48-year-old Mancini. "We moved so slowly. We lost the participants that were our targets to improve our team." Earlier this month, Mancini commented: "I think we had the opportunity to win yet another Premier League if we worked well last summertime but we did not." With five games left in the group, City are five points ahead of third-placed Arsenal with a game title at your fingertips. "I believe when you build your group you need certainly to start like in this case, in the end of this champion. We have time, although not plenty of time. We ought to have our goals in mind," the Italian added. Speaking on United's 20th Premier League title, Mancini said: "United have significantly more perspective than us, as a team, as a staff. We had huge problems with players wounded. "They did better than us, they won lots of games in a row, it absolutely was really difficult." Meanwhile, City striker Carlos Tevez has recommended he could be ready to stay at the Etihad beyond his present contract.
