SAN DIEGO (AP) a San Diego Padres slugger Carlos Quentin has dropped his appeal and is beginning an eight-game suspension for speeding the pile and inciting a brawl by which La Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke broke his left collarbone. With the suspension beginning with Sunday's game against Colorado, Quentin may skip the Padres' three-game collection at Dodger Stadium starting Monday evening. Quentin charged the mound after he was struck in top of the left arm by way of a frequency from Greinke. Both participants decreased their shoulders and Quentin slammed into his left collarbone was broken by Greinke, who in the struggle that ensued. Quentin says the suspension "is really difficult." He reiterated that it was sad that Greinke was hurt, but says he still thinks he had to safeguard himself.
