NEWCASTLE United have today told how they certainly were left "appalled" and "embarrassed" by the behaviour of fans mixed up in derby day problem. The club has released a statement after 29 people were caught in the town following yesterday's beat to Sunderland. They said that all fans found guilty of being mixed up in disturbances will undoubtedly be banned from the club for a lifetime. A spokesman for the membership said: "We were shocked and embarrassed by the behavior of a minority of so-called supporters who yesterday evening were associated with disturbances and dysfunction in Newcastle city centre after the fit. "Newcastle United have now been working together with Northumbria Police, and will continue to do this, in order to recognize all the persons concerned. "The Club will just take the strongest possible action against those mixed up in disturbances and will enforce instant life time restrictions on all those found guilty. "These deplorable folks have no place at Newcastle United and bring shame on the Club and a large proportion of its right, law-abiding, fans."
