He thinks it's Paul over! Manchester United legend Bryan Robson fears Scholes ... - Mirror.co.uk

Knee injury could spell end for the 38-year-old who came back from retirement so dramatically last season - but he's still got a role at Old Trafford

Manchester United's veteran midfielder Paul Scholes may be forced to retire at the end of the season - that's the fear of Old Trafford legend Bryan Robson.

Scholes has been hampered by knee issues recently, and looks unlikely to follow in the footsteps of Ryan Giggs - a year older at 39 - who recently penned a new one-year deal.

But former United skipper Robson believes Scholes may be ready to go for good now - though he hopes the club can keep the inspirational scurrier involved.

"Scholesy I'm not so sure about. He's been having a few problems with his knee. So I think he might just call it a day.

"Only he can answer whether or not he may register again in case of emergencies. But because of his attitude and the way he goes about training it is good to have him around the place."
