The Chicago Bulls will not advance far in the playoffs without Derrick Rose. AThey mightn't even advance much with him, but Bulls fans are kept by the possibility of seeing their superstar back on the court hoping against hope. So why hasn't this wish arrived at fruition? If you are a Bulls lover the enduring impression of Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant sinking two free throws then walking off the courtroom with a ruptured Achilles has to hurt. AKobe Bryant is old school. AHe is definitely an aging person who refused to cut back his minutes and did everything he could to greatly help his team reach the playoffs. Alternatively, I assume Derrick Rose will be new school. AHe is really a young player who has refused to take the court to help his staff in their playoff pursuit. If I had my druthers, I'd choose old school. In the end, perhaps it did not work-out so well for the old school guy, but you have to respect his courage and guile. Amazement, as sports fans, love to root for it is left by the guy who all on the gridiron, the judge, the ball field, etc. AIt is really a bit difficult to continue to pile plaudits on a player who has been medically cleared to play for near to 8 weeks now. Why isn't Rose playing? AAnd even better, why aren't the Bulls placing more pressure on him to accomplish only that? If I held a company and was paying a member of staff workman's comp for an injury, and I knew he was healthy enough to work again, I'd certainly expect him to return to work. Barry Gross/Getty Images And why doesn't Derrick Rose wish to come back to work? AThat may be the most complicated facet of the problem. AOne could think Rose is a player. AWe are on the eve of the playoffs. AIt could be the time all elite athletes step up their aggressive drive and their sport. Signature players fundamentally are judged on the games they get. AThe window to gain titles is relatively small, so it is ultimately quite surprising that Derrick Rose might elect to skip a season in his journey to keep his heritage in the NBA history books.
