The only blemish was a 2-0 home defeat to Arsenal in the last round where a 3-1 first-leg win at the Emirates proved crucial.
But nobody at the Allianz Arena cares a jot about that defeat as the Germans aim to lift the European Cup for a fourth time, having lost to Chelsea in last year's final and to Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan in 2010.
Having trounced Hamburg 9-2 on Saturday to stay 20 points clear in the Bundesliga, the net was bulging again within no time.
Alaba collected the ball 30 yards out before unleashing a left-footed shot which clipped Arturo Vidal's boot and swerved past the wrong-footed Gianluigi Buffon.
And despite that touch of misfortune, Italian title hopefuls Juve were lucky not to concede more in a first half that Bayern largely dominated.
After Juve playmaker Andrea Pirlo saw a dipping free-kick land on Manuel Neuer's net, the hosts began to create a number of good openings. Substitute Arjen Robben, having replaced the injured Toni Kroos, almost marked his introduction with a goal in the 18th minute only to be denied by a fine Buffon save.
Franck Ribery then saw a shot deflected into the side-netting before Robben fired one effort wide and then forced another stop from Buffon.
Juve were back on the defensive after the break with Buffon denying Mario Mandzukic before flying to his left to parry an Alaba free-kick.
But after the Italian stopper kept out Luiz Gustavo's shot, the rebound was picked up by Mandzukic who laid the ball back for Muller to tap home.
Still Bayern charged forward and only two more superb saves from Ribery and Muller kept Juventus alive in the contest ahead of the return.
