Sunderland v Fulham team news: Cattermole ruled out for Black Cats as Davies ... - Mirror.co.uk

Sunderland set to lose their skipper Lee Cattermole for several weeks, while Fulham prepare to welcome back long-term injury victim Simon Davies

Sunderland skipper Lee Cattermole faces the prospect of several weeks on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury.

The 24-year-old midfielder will miss tomorrow's Barclays Premier League clash with Fulham at the Stadium of Light after having an injection in the knee, with manager Martin O'Neill admitting surgery may be required if that does not solve the problem.

Full-back Danny Rose is expected to return to training next week after aggravating a hamstring strain which has been treated at parent club Tottenham.

Fulham's Simon Davies has overcome a knee injury and could play his first game in almost a year at Sunderland tomorrow.

Fellow midfielders Kerim Frei and Kieran Richardson have recovered from their respective pelvis and calf injuries but Mahamadou Diarra (knee) is out.

Sunderland squad: Mignolet, Westwood, Bardsley, O'Shea, Kilgallon, Bramble, Cuellar, Mangane, N'Diaye, Gardner, Colback, McClean, Larsson, Johnson, Vaughan, Sessegnon, Fletcher, Graham.

Fulham squad: Schwarzer, Somogyi, Etheridge, Riether, Hangeland, Hughes, Senderos, Riise, Dejagah, Baird, Karagounis, Kacaniklic, Frimpong, Davies, Richardson, Frei, Mesca, Enoh, Berbatov, Sidwell, Duff, Ruiz, Emanuelson, Rodallega, Petric.
